We are looking for a motivated, organised, and proactive professional to support the Operations Manager in receiving and dispatching goods in our busy Goods In department and packing goods for replenishment.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively making recommendations to the Operations Manager to help identify opportunities to update or improve procedures and standards
- Supervising the team when checking goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damage
- Ensuring the loading and unloading of trucks and vans are in line with health & safety procedures
- Maintaining accurate records and documenting all activities and discussions
- Serving and assisting customers where needed with orders, and always providing excellent customer service
- Notifying the Stock & Purchasing department of any damaged goods received
- Physically moving stock from the Goods In area to the relevant department
- Ensuring yard and department tidiness/recycling cardboard is maintained
- Providing customers and colleagues with delivery information. Reviewing orders, scheduling deliveries and collections on Journey Planner
- Owning the order picking process and coordinating with other departments
- Reviewing drivers’ daily vehicle checks and ensuring vehicles are compliant with safety standards
- Arranging repairs and routine maintenance and scheduling vehicle servicing and inspections
- Ensuring that all drivers and operators have the correct, up to date qualifications
- Reducing the risk of vehicle overloading using Journey Planner
- Handling and resolving complaints and escalating to management when required
- Ensuring procedures included within the Group Health & Safety Policy are always adhered to
- Other duties as assigned
